Donnie Blackburn

Mr. Donald Alan “Donnie” Blackburn, age 53 of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Donnie was born July 19, 1968 in Surry County to Mack Donald Blackburn and Sarah Medley Blackburn.

Donnie was a member of Gid Branch Baptist Church and a foreman with Pike Electric.

Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include:  his sister, Regina Reavis of Thurmond; niece, Shania Reavis of Thurmond; aunts, Sadie Bauguess, Elizabeth Youngquist and her husband Frank; uncle, Dale Weaver and his wife Rosa; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Adam Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests those attending the services please wear a mask.
