Doris Bauguess Duncan

Mrs. Doris Bauguess Duncan, age 89, of Elkin passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Duncan was born September 1, 1931 in Wilkes County to John and Verna Ingool Bauguess.

Mrs. Duncan was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Duncan; brothers, Arvin Bauguess, Jim Bauguess, Clyde Bauguess, Vaughn Bauguess, Fred Bauguess, Bobby Bauguess, Charles Bauguess; and sister, Selma Golden

Survivors include: sons, Leroy Duncan and John Duncan and wife Teresa; brothers, Zeno Bauguess, John “June” Bauguess, Jr and wife Gay Nell; sister, Patsy Dudley; grandchildren, Jason Duncan, Trent Duncan and wife Liz, Jarel Duncan and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Luke, Iris, and Elise.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Seth Siceloff officiating. Mrs. Duncan will lie-in-state Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church Building Fund, 1161 Little Elkin Church Rd, Ronda, NC 28670.
