Edelita ‘Hydee’ Dangoy Go went peacefully to the Lord on January 14, 2023 in NC, her three daughters by her side.
Born on June 8, 1942 in Manila, Philippines to Milagros and Petronilo Dangoy, Hydee was the eldest of 5 children who all survive her: Sisters Mercy, Merly, Veronica and brother Jun.
As a young woman, she dreamed to follow in her father’s footsteps, Captain Dangoy was the Presidential pilot for four Presidents of the Philippines and later was the head of flight safety for Philippine Airlines. This love of flying lead to her first career as Manager of Reservations and Training at Philippine Airlines, where she worked for 25 years. Married to popular radio personality in Manila and later Honolulu, Ricardo ‘Buddy’ Go, they had three beautiful daughters: Anna Partridge, Liza Go-Harris and Angelica ‘Gellie’ Go-Meyer. After retiring from Philippine Airlines, Hydee made her home in San Diego, California, where she started her second career at the San Diego Sheriff’s Department office in Downtown San Diego, where she worked in administration until her second retirement at age 67.
An avid lover of travel, painting, dance and flowers, Hydee always brought a smile, laugh and warm personality to all she encountered. Her organizational skills and sense of direction were legendary.
Hydee’s pride and joy are her ‘Nana’s Angels’, Granddaughters Lauren (22) and Sophia (17). Nana Hydee also loved to joke around with her two sons-in-law Jeff Harris and Erik Meyer. Her favorite music was by ‘The King’, Elvis Presley.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in the name of Hydee Go to the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s centers in San Diego and/or Mountain Valley Hospice in NC, where she made many friends with staff and patients alike.
