Frances Kay Burchette

Mrs. Frances Kay Burchette, age 78, of Elkin passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin.    Kay was born May 12, 1946 to James Walter and Hazel Harris Jenkins. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Ministries.  She enjoyed traveling and she loved her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Garvey” Burchette ,  a grandson, Nicholas McGuire and a sister, Debra Ann Jenkins.

Survivors include: sons, Richard A. Burchette and wife Lisa of Elkin, Joey A. Burchette of Elkin, Michael A. Burchette and wife Starr of Easley, S.C.; daughter, Elizabeth K. Burnett and husband Gary of Dobson; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
