Gary Walsh

Mr. Gary Robert Walsh, age 74, of Jonesville passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. Mr. Walsh was born May 22, 1945 in Caldwell County to Paul and Gertrude Tucker Walsh.

Mr. Walsh was a member of Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church, retired from Chatham Manufacturing, and was a meticulous carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Walsh; infant son, Gary Walsh, Jr.; and daughter, Loretta Ann McGrady.

Survivors include: sons, David Walsh and wife Melinda of Jonesville, Claude Brooks and wife Felicia of Jonesville, Jay Walsh and wife Faith of Hamptonville; daughters, Sharon Hines and husband Tim of Taylorsville, Donna Webb of Elkin, Missy Dobson and husband Mark of Elkin, Janet Cockerham and husband Matthew of Elizabeth City; brothers, Paul Eugene Walsh and wife Linda of Mocksville, James Guthrie Walsh and wife Cindy of Granite Falls; sisters, Doris Ann Walsh Coffey of Granite Falls, Frances Arlene Hedrick and husband Tommy of Hickory; grandchildren, Amanda Mecimore, Kayla Webb, Lakan Brooks, Tyler Webb, Katelyn Southard, Destiny Walsh, Olivia Phillips, Sarah Southard, Gretchen Brooks, Ashley Walsh, Sophia Cockerham, Melea Dobson; great grandchildren, Elijah Smith, Arianna Smith, Bailey Southard.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Walter Hutchins and Pastor Jesse Garmon. Burial will follow in Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Center, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, N.C. 27055, or to Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church, 11985 Longbottom road, Traphill N.C. 28685.
