Gaye Sloop Temple

Mrs. Gaye Sloop Temple, age 84, of Cherryville, NC passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Temple was born November 19, 1936 in Surry County to Walter C. and Fannie Turner Sloop.

Mrs. Temple retired from Lucia and was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Crouse, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill M. Temple, grandson Derek Cornelius, great grandson Austin Cornelius and special son Dr. George Lester Darrow.

Survivors include: son, Samuel Smith and spouse Lynn of Hope Mills, NC; daughters, Chris Cagle and spouse Tommy of Cherryville, NC, Dawn Cornelius and spouse Ricky of Lincolnton, NC, Tracy Adams and spouse Perry of Lincolnton, NC, and Chanda Richardson and spouse Noel of Sparta, NC; special daughter, Bonita Milholland of Cherryville, NC; brother, Jack Sloop and spouse Dolly of Jonesville, NC; sisters, Carol Whittington of State Road, NC and Rachel Brock of Concord, NC; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, July 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Garden with Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev Mike Lane officiating.
