Gerald Max Combs

Gerald Max Combs, age 85, of Elkin, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Health.

Gerald was born March 11, 1939, in Carroll County, Virginia, to Arnold Noah Combs and Josie Stoneman Combs.

Gerald was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elkin.  Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Reva Combs, of the home; son, Greg Combs and wife Elizabeth of Cornelius; grandchildren, Noah Combs of Raleigh and Mary Elizabeth Combs; brother, Kenneth Combs of Winston-Salem; sisters, Muriel Burnette of Galax, VA, and Jo Ann Hale of N. Wilkesboro along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ruth Lundy and Peggy Burnette.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at First United Methodist Church of Elkin.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. before the service.
