Glenda Moxley Gilliam

Glenda Gail Moxley Gilliam, age 76, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center.

Glenda was born January 6, 1948, in Yadkin County to Paul Isaac Moxley and Annie Joyce Martin Moxley. She was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church, where she was active in many children’s programs and church activities. Glenda had a heart for helping others, loved her community, and took pride in serving her town. She retired after 26 years of service from the Town of Jonesville having served as Tax Collector and Town Clerk.  After having the best job of being a Grammy and keeping her granddaughter, she returned to service as the Town of Jonesville Tourism Coordinator until her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.R. Gilliam, along with three half-sisters.

Survivors include: her daughter, Heather Gilliam Wall and husband Tracy of Jonesville; granddaughter, Mallory Wall of Jonesville; brother, Billy Moxley and wife Mary of Yadkinville; sister, Phyllis Groce of Yadkinville; brother-in-law Gilbert Lowery and wife Carol of Emerald Isle and several loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Jonesville First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Hensley, Rev. Pam Anthony and Rev. Paul Haywood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.
