Glenn Blackburn

Mr. Glenn Blackburn, age 84, of Ronda passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at his home. Mr. Blackburn was born September 8, 1938 in Wilkes County to Olin Thomas Blackburn and Myrtle Johnson Blackburn.

Mr. Blackburn was a member of Ronda Baptist Tabernacle and retired from Holly Farms/Tyson. He was a loving husband, father and Pa and enjoyed buying, selling, and trading at the N. Wilkesboro Flea Market, where he made many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Blackburn; sister, Dovie Brewer; and half-sister, Pauline Childress.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years, Betty H. Blackburn of the home; son, Chadley Glenn Blackburn and his wife Jill of Mandeville, LA; brother, James Blackburn of N. Wilkesboro; sister, Mary Ledford and her husband Sam of Boomer; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Blackburn, Roman Gatica, and Charmie Blackburn.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Ronda Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from    6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Suite 101, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
