Mr. Gregory “Greg” Ford Moore, age 64, of Elkin passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Greg was born August 2, 1957 in Forsyth County to the late Ann Cockerham Moore.
Greg was an avid Tarheel fan and was a lover of golf, horseback riding, The Allman Brothers Band, and his very special dog, Heidi. Greg was a devoted husband and loving father.
In addition to his mother, Greg was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mildred S. Medley; aunts, Elizabeth Branch and Margaret DeJournette; and uncles, Joe Pack Cockerham and Bert Cockerham.
Survivors include: his wife Paula Moore of the home; daughters, Shannon Skaggs of Winston-Salem, Samantha Moore of Elkin; son, Andrew Moore of Elkin; grandchildren, Hunter Skaggs and Ryder Skaggs both of Elkin; father-in-law, Vernon Medley of Elkin; aunt, Margaretha Bullen of Dobson; and several cousins, including two very special ones, Mike Cockerham of Elkin and Johnny Bert Cockerham and his wife Tina of Mount Airy.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Roger Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
