Hallie Cook White

Hallie Cook White, age 78, of Jonesville, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her residence. Hallie was born in Surry County on July 1, 1945, to Lunsford Montgomery Cook and Mary Wilmoth Cook.

Hallie was always the life of the party; she enjoyed reading her bible, absolutely loved Dr. David Jeremiah, and had all his books, but most of all, she loved her boys and grandchildren. She always wanted to play cards and any kind of board game and watch movies. She loved to get dressed up to go out, and her hair and lipstick were always perfect.

She was a member of Temple Hill Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob White; brothers, David Jackson Cook and Charles Lee Cook; and sisters, Betty Jo White and Patricia Ann Miracle.

Survivors include her sons, Johnny Hanks and wife Molli Jo Johnson of Elkin, Jeff Hanks and wife Kathy of Wilkesboro; brother Boyd Myron "Bud" Cook of Dobson; grandchildren, Nathaniel Shane Hanks and Yani, Jacob Daniel Hanks and Kailey, Hannah Ray Hanks, and fiancé Hunter Blake, step-grandchildren, James Cole Harper, Drew Johnson (Becca), Cory Johnson (Anna), Morgan Smart (David), Madison Robertson (Austin); step-great-grandchildren, Kilee Johnson, Aaron Troglin, Maci Johnson, Blair Smart, and Brooke Smart, Jonah Johnson; nieces and nephews; Mary Jo Phipps and Larry, Libby Wagoner & Gary, Betsy White and Terry, David Cook, Monty Crouse and Nancy,  Amanda Wagoner and Rodney, Maryann Casstevens, and Dean, Dixie Atkins, Cindy McCormick; several other loving great nieces and nephews and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Temple Hill Methodist Church, with Rev. Justin Welch and Dr. Don Hudson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
