Harold David Brown

Harold David Brown, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Harold was born April 8, 1951, in Surry County to George Franklin Brown and Vivian Anderson Brown.

He was a long-time member of Gid Branch Baptist Church. He loved fishing on the coast and playing guitar. Harold also loved singing with the gospel groups and with the Harris Family.

Harold was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Vivian Anderson Brown of Elkin; son, Jason Brown and wife Amber of Hamptonville; daughter, Annette Rhodes and husband Michael of Elkin; brother, Donald Brown and wife Tina of Fries, VA; sisters, Rosezetta Spicer and husband Michael of State Road, Annie Funderburk and husband Keith of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Heather Peterson and husband Curtis, Hunter Rhodes, Logan Brown, Katie Brown; great grandchild, Henry Peterson.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Gid Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Royal and Rev. Houston Parks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
