Hattie Long Shores

Mrs. Hattie Long Shores, age 82, of Thurmond passed away Friday, October 9 2020 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Shores was born November 26, 1937 in Yadkin County to Hugh Tremaine and Marie Thompson Long.

Mrs. Shores was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church and retired from Hugh Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Ray Shores and sister, Lana Marie Cave.

Survivors include: sons, Timothy Wayne Shores and wife Isabell of Thurmond, Lester Paul Shores and wife Ginger of Thurmond, Gregory Steven Shores and wife Angela of Thurmond; brothers, Joel “Sonny” Long of Boonville, Roger Hugh Long and wife Janet of Thurmond; sister, Doris Faye Kane of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Shannon Michelle Brown, Jennifer Leigh Burton and husband John, Andrew Shores and wife Anna, Emily Vena Akers and husband Mark, Nathan Paul Shores and wife Tracy, Daniel Shores and wife Leah, Tara Quesinberry and husband Corey, Dana Marie Lemons and wife Toni; and 9 great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Shores will lie-in-state Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. All other services will be private.
