Helen Chatman Burchette

Helen Chatman Burchette passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her residence in Elkin. Mrs. Burchette was born September 22, 1935 to Charlie Frank Chatman Sr. and Willie Thelma Nixon Chatman.

Helen was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Burchette, and brother, Charlie Frank Chatman Jr.

Survivors include a daughter; Tammy Morris and husband, Terry of Elkin; brother, James W. Chatman and wife Rosa Lee of Elkin; niece, Jamie Chatman Pilkenton and husband, Gary; nephew, Andrew Chatman and wife, Sandra, great-nephew, Alex Chatman; great-nieces, Cassandra Carter, Krystal Carter, Brianna Dancy; great-great-niece, Shiloh Dancy.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Mr. Andrew Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
