Helen Poindexter Myers

Mrs. Helen Poindexter Myers, age 72, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020.  Mrs. Myers was born September 7, 1947 in Surry County to Ervin and Myrtle Hawks Poindexter.

Helen was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson and a member of Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation Round up Board and American Business Women’s Association.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: Her husband of 55 years, John A. Myers of the home, a son Jimmy R. Myers and wife Phyllis B. of Traphill, a daughter, Tammy Stone and husband Bobby of Hamptonville, four grandchildren, Amber Myers, Steven Myers, Lauren Stone, Courtney Stone, two brothers, Willie Poindexter and wife Jane of Hamptonville, Tony Poindexter and wife Shelia of Boonville, a sister, Betty Childress and husband Ray of Elkin, a special nephew, Jonathan Poindexter of Elkin and a special friend, Pat Dutko of Elkin.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11 am at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson with Rev. Glinard Lawson and Rev. Terry Coe officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the church.
