Hilda Snow Bryant

August 12, 1933 — May 30, 2019

Mrs. Hilda Mae Snow Bryant, age 85, of Thurmond passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Bryant was born August 12, 1933 in Surry County to Lonnie and Vena Scott Snow.

Mrs. Bryant was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where at age 12 she started playing piano and continued to do so for over 60 years, and a member of Women on Mission. Hilda held several leadership positions as a member of Old Hickory Council Scouting and was a recipient of the hight scouting award given, The Silver Beaver Award. Mrs. Bryant also served on the PTA of Mountain Park Elementary for several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A Bryant, Jr. and brother, Harold Snow.

Survivors include: sons, Larry Bryant and his wife Denise of Winston-Salem, Mike Bryant and his wife Martha of Denver, and Rex Bryant of Yadkinville; sister, Helen Snow Morrison of Boonville; grandchildren, Nathan Bryant and his wife Sallie, Krista Sisk and her husband Nathan, Matthew Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Bethany Bryant, Joseph Bryant and Brianna Bryant; great grandchildren, Ollie Bryant, Wilkhe Sisk and Nixon Bryant.

A celebration of life will be conducted Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
