Howard Cebon Reynolds

Mr. Howard C. Reynolds, age 100 of Ronda, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home. Mr. Reynolds was born August 9, 1922 in Wilkes County to Rufus Reynolds and Stella Johnson Reynolds.

Howard joined Little Elkin Baptist Church when he was eighteen years old and was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord. He was an ordained deacon for many years and was constantly setting a Christian example. Howard enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and visiting other churches spreading God’s love.

Howard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met.

Howard retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company after 48 years of service and was a faithful employee of Johnson Funeral Home for over ten years.  He was a member of Benham Ruritan Club and was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Laster Reynolds; son, Larry Cebon Reynolds; brothers, Ed Reynolds, Kenneth Reynolds, R.J. Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Joe Bill Reynolds, Paul Reynolds; and sisters, Leona Burcham and Vesta Martin.

Survivors include: his son, Leonard Reynolds and his wife Liz of Jonesville; daughters, Becky Creed and her husband Johnny of Ronda, Cindy Simmons and her husband Phil of Thurmond; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Reynolds of Elkin; sister, Velda Martin and husband Jimmy of Jonesville; grandchildren, Scott Reynolds, April Booe, Chris Creed, Darren Creed, Melissa Martin, Jennifer Gambill, Abigail Pardue, Aaron Simmons; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Pastor Seth Siceloff, son-in-law, Mr. Phil Simmons and Mr. Gary York officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church.
