Jackie Holder

Mr. Roger Jackson “Jackie” Holder, Jr., age 64, of Elkin passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Holder was born December 16, 1955 in Surry County to Roger Jackson and Elsie White Holder, Sr.

Mr. Holder was a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was employed with G&B Energy and previously worked for Old Belk Farmer’s Cooperative in Winston-Salem. Mr. Holder was an avid farmer and loved the simple life. He was a dedicated family man and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Holder was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 43 years, Vanessa C. Holder of the home; daughters, Shannon Holder Norris and husband Steven of Lewisville and Ashley Dennette Riedel and husband David of Franklinton, NC; brothers, Tracy Holder and wife Judy of Elkin and Jay Holder and wife Pat of Elkin, sister, Olene Phillips and husband Billy of Elkin; grandchildren, Callie Norris, Jackson Norris, Phoenix Riedel, and Vaughn Riedel; and several special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Grose officiating.
