Jackie Hawkins Medley

Mrs. Jackie Hawkins Medley, age 73, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1946 in Wilkes County to Nymphus and Moletta Crabb Hawkins. Mrs. Medley retired from Wilkes County Animal Control and was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Medley and sisters, Freida Spicer and Frankie Simmons.

Survivors include: Godson, Cory Wilmoth and his wife Kimberly; nieces and nephews, Tammy Handy and her husband Carl, Tina Henley and her husband Ken, Greg Spicer, Randy Spicer, Dexter Spicer, Phillip Spicer and his wife Debbie, Abigail Watson and her husband Tim and Penny Casstevens and her husband Kent, lifelong friend; Bobbi Taylor, and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Middle Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Whitley and Rev. Joe Sturgill officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or Middle Cross Baptist Church Building Fund.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wilkes Regional Medical Center, especially the nurses in the Telemetry Unit and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care.
