James Gregory Hamlin

James “Greg” Gregory Hamlin, age 66, of Roaring River, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Greg was born in Surry County on October 14, 1958, to James Wendell Hamlin and Ruth Coalson Hamlin. Greg loved to golf, ride his Harley Davidson, and the UNC Tarheels. Greg was also a very active blood donor, he would donate when he had the opportunity to.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Irwin Hamlin; daughters, Shelby Hamlin McLean, Jill McLean, Karsten Love and husband Drew, Layla Curry Irwin; brother, Ricky Hamlin and wife Jennifer; sister, Misty Jones and husband Buddy; grandchildren, Wyatt Love, Wrenley Love; aunt & uncle, Ethel and Mac Coalson; several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November, 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Visitation will be following the service.
