James Jerry Mooney

Mr. James Jerry Mooney, age 86, of State Road passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home. Mr. Mooney was born June 27, 1935 in Wilkes County to Charles Floyd Mooney and Flossie Mae Caudill Mooney.

Mr. Mooney was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Westinghouse. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Oral Ray Jordan and brother, Tom Mooney.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline Baker Mooney of the home; daughters, Robin Mooney of Kernersville, Dawn Hatcher and her husband Mike of Dobson; grandchildren, LeAndra Marsh- Hettig and her husband Matthew of Binghamton, NY, Johnathan Marsh of Mocksville, James Ray Jordan and his wife Theresa of Rock Hill, SC, Nathan Jordan of Mocksville, Nolan Jordan and his fiancée Carly Johnson of Dobson; great-grandchildren, Skylar MaeFahey of Binghamton, NY, Josephine Jordan of Rock Hill, SC, Eisley Jordan of Rock Hill, SC; and sister-in-law, Nancy Mooney of State Road.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Anderson officiating.
