Mrs. Jean Williams Carson, age 92, passed away peacefully Friday, January 21, 2022 at her home as the result of congestive heart failure. She was born November 18, 1929 in Parkersburg, WV to Ralph E. Williams and Mabel Bailey Williams.
Mrs. Carson was a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV and a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a source of strength and compassion for many. She was a retired case worker for the Department of Social Services in Bedford County, VA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William F. Carson; daughter, Donna Carson and sister, Ruby Moore.
Survivors include: daughter, Kathryn Snow and her husband Robert of Elkin; granddaughter, Janet Snow and her partner Milo Bowles of Elkin; niece, Colleen Stewart and her husband Rick of Mocksville, nephew, Bryan Moore and his wife Maria of Bridgeport, WV; cousins, Judy Cooper of Lexington, SC, Kay Wireback and her husband of Herb of New Paris, PA, Mike Goggin of Athens, GA, Shirley Goggin of Ocala, FL and Marjorie Shafer of Jacksonville, FL; and special family friends, Michael Brown and Joyce Branson.
A memorial service will be planned at First Baptist Church of Elkin at a later date.
