Jeffery Dean Garris passed away early in the morning of Sunday January 2nd 2022, at the age of 59 years old. He was born in Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital on November 11th 1962, to Perry Neil and Doris Ann Shew Garris, who preceded him in death, and no doubt were there to welcome him with open arms when he arrived. He was a graduate of Starmount High School and spent his life perfecting many trades including HVAC repair, welding, sheet metal, and refrigeration. He deeply loved his children, Riahannon Jade Price (Kalib) and McKinley Slade Garris and taught them to be as hard-working, independent, and head strong as he was. They love and are forever grateful to their Daddy for doing the best he could, always; and they are left wishing there was more time for hugs, kisses, love, forgiveness, and healing. He is also survived by his little sister Janet Childress (Keith), who loves her brother so much and has been at his children's side through the hardest days of their lives so far; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family. A special thanks goes to his lifelong friend Randy, for being at his side and caring for him since they were children. Jeff had more friends than could ever be listed, and will be missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers, please take the time to reach out to someone you may be missing - there will not always be more time. If you would like, please make a donation to Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville, North Carolina in his memory. Take a moment when you can, listen to the song One Tin Soldier, and make a toast to Jeff, the life he lived, and the love he gave. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Generations Restaurant in Jonesville. All are welcome to stop by and help celebrate Jeff's life.
