Jerry L. Holder

Mr. Jerry Lee Holder, age 77, of Elkin passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Pruitt Health. Mr. Holder was born February 27, 1943 in Surry County to Raymond and Clyde Collins Holder.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loving on his little dog, Ginger. He loved to ride with his wife, JoAnn, in his convertible. Jerry was a member of the last class to graduate from Mountain Park High School, and then he went on to attend Draughn’s Business College.  He then served four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War before marrying the love of his life. Jerry was smart, and anyone that knew him knew he could fix any broken computer. Jerry loved the Lord and was a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Holder was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, JoAnn C. Holder of the home; son, Aaron Holder and wife Crystal of Boonville; daughter, Angie Coe and husband Todd of Elkin; brother, R.V. Holder, Jr. and wife Libby of Florida; loving brother-in-law, Randy Cockerham and wife Christine of Charlotte; grandchildren, Abbie Holder, Hogan Coe, Laken Coe, Kendal Holder, Khloe Holder; step-grandson, Levi Myers; several nieces and nephews; and fur baby, Ginger Holder.

A graveside service with military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 will be conducted Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Grose officiating.
