Jerry Ralph Maines

Mr. Jerry Ralph Maines, age 89, of Jonesville passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Maines was born September 10, 1933 in Alleghany County to Glenn and Edith Brooks Maines.

Mr. Maines retired from the United States Air Force and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lawrence Maines; son, Michael Ralph Maines; sisters, Phyllis Maines Carter and Donna Maines Gentry.

Survivors include: wife, Pat Tucker Maines of the home; son, Jonathan Maines and his wife Angie; daughters, Jeriann Maines Holt and her husband Scott, Kelly Parks, Kim Macemore (Larry Chappell); daughter-in-law, Julie Maines; brother Roger Maines and his wife Marion; three step-children; eight grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; sixteen step-great-grandchildren, and several special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road with Rev. Dylan Cook and Rev. John Attaway officiating.  Interment will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
