Jerry Lee Vestal

Mr. Jerry Lee Vestal, age 72, of State Road passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1947 in Surry County to Joseph David and Hartence Lovie Darnell Vestal.

Mr. Vestal was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from R.J. Reynolds. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Vestal was a three time Purple Heart recipient for his service. He was a member of the Captain Mark Garner VFW Post 7794 and an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald “Butch” Vestal and granddaughter, Carrie Ann Vestal.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 50 years, Lucy H. Vestal of the home; sons, Christopher Lee Vestal and wife Ashley of Westfield, David Gardner Vestal and wife Rachel of Clemmons; grandchildren, Kenneth Vestal, Jazper Romanyszyn, and Delaney Vestal.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Mr. Vestal's residence, 143 Pat Nixon Rd, State Road, NC 28676.

The family requests memorials be made to Captain Mark Garner VFW Post 7794, c/o John Skinta, 311 Frasier Fir Lane, Dobson, NC 27017.
