Jimmie Proveaux

Mr. Jimmie “Jim” Willis   Proveaux, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home. He was born September 15, 1938 in Colleton County, SC to Ezekiel and Alma Dean Proveaux.  Jim was the owner of Jim’s Auto Repair and attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Martin Proveaux and brothers, Davis E. Proveaux and Johnny B. Proveaux.

Survivors include: son, Jimmy Proveaux, Jr. and his wife Karen of Moravian Falls; daughter, Frances P. Tilley of Winston-Salem; brothers, Palmer L. Proveaux and wife Shirley of Advance; sisters, Donna Hedrick of Winston-Salem and Dorothy Marshall of King; brother-in-law, Jerry Martin; grandchildren, Jimmy Proveaux III, Brooke P. Workman and husband Nathan, Chad Proveaux, Misty T. Cammons, Adam Tilley and Shane Tilley and great grandchildren, Caleb, Luke, Bryson, and Erin.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Derek Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
