Jimmy Lee Gentry

Mr. Jimmy “Jim” Lee Gentry, age 82, of Elkin went home to the Lord Friday, June 18, 2021 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Jim was born April 1, 1939 in Surry County to Paul and Blanche Snow Gentry.

He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and worked for Vaughn-Bassett until he retired. Jim was an outdoorsman and enjoyed working in his yard. He loved the Lord and gospel music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Gentry and sisters, Bonnie Knight and Jo Ann Joines.

Survivors include: his wife; Evelyn C. Gentry of the home; sons, Donnie Gentry and Dean Gentry; step son, Rixie Spicer and wife Lynn; step daughters, Mazie Loggins and husband Daniel and Betty Spicer; Brother, Ronnie Gentry and wife Frances; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Keith Wood officiating.
