Jimmy Franklin Howell

Mr. Jimmy Franklin Howell, age 84, of Elkin passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home. Mr. Howell was born March 8, 1937 in Wilkes County to Clark Lee and Vallie Sparks Howell.

Mr. Howell was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing. He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Claris Howell and niece, Debbie Howell Waddell.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 64 years, Priscilla R. Howell of the home; daughters, Susan Lyon and husband Steven of Thurmond, Peggy Grose and husband Carl of Statesville; sisters, Brenda Howell of Ronda, Linda Parks of Ronda, Mary Bell Caudle of Ennis; grandchildren, Jason Grose, Travis Grose and wife Melanie, Chris Lyon and wife Toni, Zack Lyon; great-grandchildren, Ryker Lyon, Christopher Meade, Brianna Meade; and several special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds and Rev. Joe Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests that those in attendance dress casual.
