Joann Waddell Crouse

Joann Waddell Crouse, 66, of Elkin, passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Joann was born January 12, 1958, in Alleghany County to Robert Waddell and Shirley Collins Combs. 

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, crochet and also loved bird watching.

Survivors include her mother, Shirley Collins Combs of Elkin; daughters Thalassa Wilmoth and husband Adam of Thurmond and Brenda Edwards and husband Heath of Sparta; brothers Michael Waddell and wife Tammy of Asheboro and Kenneth Waddell and wife Lily of Elkin; grandchildren Calvin Wilmoth, Madison Wilmoth, Jason Edwards, and Samuel “Colt” Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Rich Hill Union Baptist Church, 2759 Shawtown Road, Glady Valley, NC on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Jackie Caudill officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside at Elkin Funeral Service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
