Joel Thomas Sprinkle

Joel Thomas “Joey” Sprinkle, age 66, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at his home in Rocky Mount, NC.  Joel was previously from Elkin.

Joel was born December 10, 1957, in Surry County to Thomas Hampton and Claudette Nixon Sprinkle, he was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Sprinkle of the home; daughter, Retta Elizabeth Sprinkle of Elkin; sons, Nicholas Ryan Pace and wife Rhonda of Winston Salem, Zachary Russell Pace and wife Duaa of High Point; mother, Claudette Nixon Sprinkle of Elkin; brothers, Jay Nixon Sprinkle and wife Michelle of Jonesville, Jonathan Morris Sprinkle and wife Kristi of Elkin; grandchildren, Lincoln Pace, Asher Pace, Marsden Pace, Mia Pace, Nicky Olson, Raghad Said, Farrah Said, Mo Said, and Alaa Said.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Elkin.
