John Clifford Bass, Sr.

Mr. John Clifford Bass, Sr., age 63, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Pruitt Health. Mr. Bass was born September 10, 1957 in Germany to Walter Dudley and Winifred Cook Bass.

Mr. Bass was a United States Navy veteran. He enjoyed studying family genealogy and history, especially the Civil War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Bass.

Survivors include: sons, John Bass, Jr., Billy Bass; daughter, Melissa Herbert; brothers and sisters, Walter David Bass and wife Louise of Alabama, twin brother James Bass of Elkin, Mary Wood and husband Kermit of Elkin, Beatrice Ann Johnson and husband Brian of Mississippi, Joyce Wagner and husband Dwayne of Thurmond, Susan Collins and husband David of Elkin; sister-in-law, Pat Bass of Mississippi; and numerous grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Fellowship Church with Pastor Michael Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
