John Myers

Mr. John A. Myers, age 83, of State Road passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Myers was born November 25, 1935 in Wilkes County to June Stroud and Ruth Wiles Myers.

John was retired from Centel Telephone Company and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Marie Lyon Myers and a brother, Robert Earl “Jackie” Myers.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon “Rusty” Myers of the home; three sons, Lynn Myers and wife Debbie of Elkin, Allen Myers and wife Debbie of Elkin and Matthew Myers and wife Amy of Mooresville; daughter, Johnna Hayes and husband Kenneth of Elkin; a brother, Frank Myers and wife Shelby of N. Wilkesboro; Six Grandchildren, Richard Myers, Ashley James, James Myers, John Myers, Ryan Hayes, and Elizabeth Myers; many great and great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ryan Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
