Johnny Clayton Hemric, age 86, of Ronda, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Hemric was born April 23, 1937, in Ronda, to James Archie and Gertie Mae Sparks Hemric.
Johnny’s faith in Christ as his personal savior was his most valued treasure and the most important value he liked to share with others. His greatest wish was to see all his family come to know God through their faith in Jesus Christ. He was an active church member throughout his life and served in missions, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and serving as a Deacon. He was a self-employed Custom Home Builder and Farmer early in life and the Owner-Operator of Pleasant Hill Grocery for 11 years followed by the Founder-Owner-Operator of E-Z UP Garage Doors in Ronda, NC for over 30 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Ann Hemric.
Survivors include: his wife, JoAnn Byrd Hemric of the home, three sons, Jeffrey Hemric and Paula of Elkin, Ricky Hemric and wife Karla of Davison, MI, Marty Hemric and wife Ramona of Ronda, two daughters, Sandy Bryant and husband Christopher of Ronda, Amy Hartle and husband Jeremy of Burlington, fourteen grandchildren, Nicole Halbeisen and husband Justin, Christopher Hemric, Stormi Moser and husband Robert, Heather Milligan and husband Brad, Steven Hemric, John Hemric, Matthew Hemric and wife Marina, Kaitlin Hemric, Lyndsey Strassburger and husband Daniel, Caleb Bryant, Hannah Davis and husband Josh, Andrew Hartle, Nathan Hartle, Gracie Hartle, six great grandchildren, Desiree Milligan, Zell Milligan, Vincent Milligan, Elijah Strassburger, Micah Strassburger, Owen Davis, three brothers, Jim Hemric and wife Edith, Jerry Hemric, Jesse Hemric and wife Judy, two sisters, Peggy Dalton, Brenda Pardue and husband Ernest.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jeff Collins, Rev. Steve Fowler and Rev. David Key officiating. Burial will follow in Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.
The family would like to thank their special caregiver and friend, Mrs. Susan Hooker, Dr. Carol Albright of WFBH Cancer Center, and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care shown to Johnny and the family during his illness.
