Juanita Lyon

Mrs. Juanita Tilley Lyon, age 91, of Traphill, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at her residence.

Juanita was born in Wilkes County on November 29, 1932, to James Luther and Minerva Ann Tilley.

Juanita attended Roaring River Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Lawrence Lyon, son Michael Lee Lyon, six brothers, Winfield Tilley, Eugene Tilley, Russel Tilley, Earlie Tilley, Thurmond Tilley, Roger Tilley, and her sister Eloise McCann.

Survivors include her daughter Patricia Finger and husband Rich of Traphill, two grandchildren, Damien Finger and wife Keisha, Dakota Finger and wife Miranda, four great grandchildren, Dalton Finger, Daylon Finger, Grayson Finger, Levi Finger, sister Joyce Hincher of Elkin, two special nephews Mickey Durham and wife Linda, Ray Durham and wife Mildred, two sister-in-law’s Cathie Tilley of Elkin, Velna Tilley of North Wilkesboro, and neighbor of 50 years, Shelby Lyon.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11 AM at Roaring River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder John Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 -11 AM prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials will be made to Roaring River Primitive Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their love and care during Mrs. Lyon’s illness.
