Judy Gayle Smith

Judy Gayle Roten Smith, age 65, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at her residence in Traphill.

Judy was born Saturday, February 1st, 1958 in Wilkes County to Robert Lee Roten and Curley Elizabeth Osborne Roten.  Judy retired from Ithaca and was a member of Old Roaring River Baptist Church.  Judy was also a member of Trinity Christian Center.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Kay Roten Spears and Sandra Jean Dillard

Survivors include her husband, Bert Smith of the home, son, David Smith and wife Amanda of Traphill, daughter, Marie Brown and husband Michael of Mulberry, eight grandchildren, Michael Godfrey, Nathanial Godfrey, Sarah Smith, Anthony Brown, Katelin Brown, Caley Smith, Olivia Smith, Oaklyn Smith.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Old Roaring River Baptist Church with Rev. John Cox and Rev. James Pardue officiating.  Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm at Old Roaring River Baptist Church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Old Roaring River Baptist Church.
