Julie Harris

Mrs. Julie Ann Shore Harris, age 61, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her home. She was born May 16, 1960 in Surry County to Thurmond and Shirley Shore.

She married her best friend and love of her life, Tony Harris, in July of 1979 who lives on to honor her memory. Julie loved to love on people. She kept a neat home and loved watching football games and wrestling matches - only if Karson or Liam were playing. Her hands were rarely still.  She had many roles-wife, daughter, mother and sister, but the role she enjoyed more than any other title was the role of Ma. She lived her life for Karson, Liam, Ava and Adalynn. Julie cherished every minute she had with each of them. She took no time for granted. She played in the floor, she watched cartoons and pretty much anything any of them wanted to do. She loved her dog, Scout and always joked he was on diet dog food.

Julie loved her church and church family at Mount Pleasant where served as Sunday school teacher; VBS teacher; and served with AWANA.  She had a servant heart and was always willing to help wherever needed.

Julie left to treasure her memory her husband, Tony of 43 years; three sons, Karson of the home, Chad (Sonda) of Thurmond, and Brent of GA; sisters, Carol (Bobby) Taylor of Elkin and Lisa (David) Wiedenhoft of East Bend; grandchildren, Liam, Ava, Adalynn, Jordan Fender and his wife Maygan and Garrett Fender and his wife Lakyn; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Hank, and Grover; and several nieces and nephews. All of these she loved with all her heart.

Please join us celebrating Julie’s life Wednesday February 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Dylan Cook and Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
