Kathaleen Cox Smith

Mrs. Kathaleen Cox Smith, age 77, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at her home.  She was born March 15, 1944 in Wilkes County, to Walter Joel Cox and Ethel Rae Smoot Cox.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Smith; twin sister, Etheleen Cox; sisters, Bernice Arnold, Rosa Lee Barker, Anna Lee Spivey, Mildred Joins, and Helen Combs and brothers, J.B. Cox, Walter Ed Cox, Carl Ira Cox, Charlie Cox and Roger Cox.

Survivors include: daughter, Kandy Hudspeth and her fiancé Wayne Laws of Elkin; brother, Sam Cox and his wife Doris Fay of Elkin; special friend, Pat Long of Traphill; grandchildren, Travis Hudspeth of Ronda, Justin Hudspeth of Ronda and Serena Laws of Elkin; great grandchildren, Rhylen Hudspeth and Dalton Hudspeth.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Justin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  Mrs. Smith will lie-in-state Wednesday from 12:00-5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
