Kathy Anderson Ward

Kathy Anderson Ward, age 60, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her residence in Union Grove.

Kathy was born July 26, 1964, in Surry County to Odes Robert and Emma Beatrice Weatherman Anderson.  She was a member of New Light Baptist Church.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Ward of the home; son, Christopher Ward II (Brooke) of Roaring River; daughters, Breanna Ward (Jason) of Roaring River, Bailey Poole (Wesley) of Union Grove; brother, Rev. Jimmy Welborn (Shirley) of Elkin; sister, Sherry Welborn (Jeff) of Ronda; special nephews, Drew Welborn, Adam Welborn, Kendall Welborn, B.J. Chapman, Cody Chapman; grandchildren, Emma Carter, Adaline Poole, Sophia Stone, Everett Poole, Brazel Ridenhour and several other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall officiating.  Interment will follow at Arbor Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Love Life Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 311, Roaring River, NC 28669.

The family would like to thank Jacob, Angel, Jeff and Laken Faw, Dr. Jon Thompson, Dr. Arun Rao, Amy Clark, Jenni Brown, De-Etta Brown.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice with special thanks to Cecilia Martin, Samantha Billings, Angel Calhoun, Megan Cheek and Ronda Blevins.
