Ken Luffman

SSG Claude Kenneth “Ken” Luffman, Ret., age 86, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at his home. SSG Luffman was born December 1, 1935 in Wilkes County to Claude and Ina Jolly Luffman.

SSG Luffman retired from the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Luffman and son, Keith Luffman.

Survivors include: his daughter, Robin Bowen and her husband Don of Hendersonville; brother, Benny Luffman and his wife Kay of Elkin; brothers-in-law, Ronald Absher and his wife Martha of Elkin; and granddaughter, Bryn Marie Bowen.

A graveside service with full military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard will be conducted Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Charity United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, C/O Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
