Kenneth George Farmer, Jr.

Mr. Kenneth “Ken” George Farmer, Jr., age 61, of Elkin passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Farmer was born September 2, 1959 in Galax, VA to Kenneth George and Edna Hooven Farmer, Sr.

Mr. Farmer was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Lowes Foods, as a manager, and also worked at Combs Butcher Shoppe in Elkin. During his tenure at Lowes Foods he was very active in fundraising efforts for families in need and many other charity events he helped organize. Mr. Farmer was very active in his church and in the community. He was an avid golfer and a member of Cedarbrook County Club in State Road.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian Taylor Farmer.

Survivors include: his wife, Pamela H. Farmer of the home; brothers, Joe Farmer and wife Tina of North Wilkesboro, Curtis Farmer and wife Pamela of Wilkeboro; niece, Sasha Farmer; and nephew, Neal Farmer.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jeff Byrd and Rev. Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
