Kenneth Winkler

Mr. Kenneth “Ken” Winkler, age 66, of Floral City, Florida passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina while traveling from Florida to Ohio. He was born August 21, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to Austin and Florence Winkler. Ken retired from Pecheny and was a proud owner of his Corvette “GiGi.”

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Winkler and grandchild, Kendall Sapper.

Survivors include: his wife, Sandra McCaig of the home; daughters, Melissa Sapper and her husband Jason of Ohio and Marcia Winkler of Ohio; step daughter, Lisa Walsh and her husband Patrick of Ohio; sisters, Rosie Boggs and her husband Gary of Florida and Susan Baker and her husband David of Florida; grandchildren, Kenzie Winkler, Kylie Rawlings and Jayden Sapper; and step grandchildren, Sara Arnette, Patrick Walsh, Jessica Koester, Melissa Walsh, Laura Walsh and Jenna Walsh.

At Ken’s request, following cremation, no formal services will be held.

The family would like to thank Anita Darnell and the staff of Quality Inn in Jonesville, NC;  the doctors and staff Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and the local police department and EMS for their compassion and care.
