Kermit Eugene Wood

Mr. Kermit Eugene Wood, age 75, of Elkin passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at his home. Mr. Wood was born November 29, 1946 in Surry County to Henry Franklin Wood and Bonnie Virginia Hayes Wood.

Mr. Wood was a member of Community Fellowship Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with Chatham Manufacturing for over 30 years and Lowes distribution for 15 years.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lana Marie Brendle.

Survivors include:  his loving wife of 55 years, Mary B. Wood of the home; son, Stephen Franklin Wood of WV; father, Henry Franklin Wood of Elkin; brother, Terry Wood and his wife Becky of Jonesville; and grandson, Michael Jarrett Wood of King.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Fellowship Church with Rev. Michael Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
