Lanny Edward Carter

Mr. Lanny Edward Carter, age 74, of Elkin died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the SECU Mountain Valley Hospice Home of Yadkinville. He was born December 6, 1949 in Buford County, Georgia to Billy David Carter and Elsie Virginia Terry Carter. Lanny was retired from Vaughan Bassett. He served in the US Army from 1968-1970.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Larry & wife Maxine Carter; brother Randy & wife Mary Carter; and brother Terry Carter.

Surviving include: children, Melanie & husband Wayne Pack of North Wilkesboro, NC, and Selena Calhoun of Yadkinville, NC; sister Debra Gregory and sister-in-law Malynda (Terry) Carter; he also had multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special dog, Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Barn at Premier Farm, 2100 NC-67, Jonesville NC 28642.
