Larry Robert Mcbride

Mr. Larry Robert McBride, age 80, of State Road, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Larry was born in Surry County March 17, 1944 to John Robert and Lexie Durham McBride

Larry, a retired Machine Operator from Indera Mills in Yadkinville, was a man of many interests. He found joy in mowing his lawn, fixing things around his home, and tinkering with his lawnmower. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch, observing the beauty of rain and thunderstorms.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Beeson McBride, and children: son, Josh McBride and wife Courtney of Elkin; daughters, Tracy Greenwood and husband Flynt of Elkin, Sharon Hendrix and husband Roger of Winston Salem, and Holly Easter and husband Scotty of Dobson. He is also survived by his brothers, Harold Prevette and wife Carole of Jonesville, Quincy McBride and wife Becky of Elkin, and sisters, JoAnn McBride of Elkin and Linda Poplin of Elkin. Larry's legacy continues through his grandchildren, John Snow, Missy Perrin and husband Michael, Aaron Hendrix, Summer McBride, Landon Easter, Kloey Easter, Cayden Easter, and Nora Easter, as well as his great-grandchildren, Mayleigh Perrin and Maverick Perrin; a special friend of Larry, Chris Edwards.

The funeral service to honor Larry's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Fall Creek Baptist Church in Jonesville. The service will be officiated by Dr. Don Hudson and Rev. John Attaway. Following the service, interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, with full military rites by NC Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors and Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -1:00 prior to the service.
