Larry Reece West

Mr. Larry Reece West, age 78, of Elkin passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. West was born December 11, 1942 in Surry County to Garnett Roosevelt and Artie Baugus West.

Mr. West attended Fall Creek Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mitzi W. Brooks; brothers, Russell West, Folger West, Edward West; and sister, Ruth Creel.

Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Barker West of the home; grandchildren, Corey Brooks of Bear Creek, Brittany Brooks of Bear Creek; son-in-law, Eric C. Brooks of Bear Creek; sisters, Bonnie Minter of Lexington, Louise Lane and husband Keith of Clovis, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
