Lena Lou Willey

Lena Mayes Willey, age 89, of State Road, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. Lena was born June 7, 1934, in Surry County to Joseph Vanoy and Grace Mae Hawks Mayes.

Lena was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She enjoyed painting and changing the color of her kitchen cabinets, as well as playing her guitar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include: sons Donald Willey of Low Gap, Mike Willey and his wife Carol of Dobson, Danny Willey and his wife Tammy of Eden; daughters Betty Edwards and her husband Gordon of Elkin, April Royall of Hamptonville; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend Debbie Williams.

The family would like to thank the SECU Hospice home in Yadkinville for their care of Lena.
