Lester S. Billings

Mr. Lester Sherman Billings, age 69, of Jonesville passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home. Mr. Billings was born August 30, 1952 in Wilkes County to Sherman Billings and Sarah “Sally” Smoot Billings.

Mr. Billings was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Lynn Billings; sisters, Nellie Minton, Carol Williams; best friend, Tim Reece; and niece, Theresa Reece.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 49 years, Becky C. Billings of the home; sisters, Doris Hall of Mount Airy, Joann White and her husband Wendell of Elkin, Shirley Murphy of State Road; special nephews, Jason Billings, Shannon Minton; and many other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Howard Luffman officiating. Mr. Billings will lie-in-state Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Suite 101, Mt. Airy NC 27030 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
