Linda Wagoner Bauguess

Mrs. Linda Wagoner Bauguess, age 85, of Traphill, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on January 3, 1939, to Gordon Noah and Nancy Ann Absher Wagoner.

Linda was a beautiful and kind soul who lived her life for the Lord allowing her actions to be a light to those surrounding her. She was a member at Round Hill Baptist Church for over 20 years. She showed her love for her family and friends in cooking, regularly taking meals to people in her community, and hosting dinners in her home for holidays and special occasions. She spent her life as a seamstress in factories and continued her work into her retirement helping the people in her community.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Odell “Pete” Bauguess, two sisters, and nine brothers, and a son-in-law, David Hall.

Survivors include her son, Travis Bauguess of State Road, daughter and son-in-law Janet & Tommy Yale of Hays and daughter Patricia “Sissy” Hall of State Road, sister, Hilda Bauguess of Elkin.  Also left to carry on her legacy are her beloved grandchildren, Tommy Yale, Jr., Justin Yale, Pam & Josh Price, and Craig & Marsia Hall.  Great-grandchildren include five great-granddaughters, Maggi, Trea, Ilex, Natalia, and Sophia, and six great-grandsons, Jeremiah, Jacob, Mikey, Bailey, Liam and Nicholas.

A funeral service will be conducted at Round Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Higgins, Rev. Jimmy Gilreath and Rev. Dean Roten officiating. Mrs. Bauguess will lie in state from 1:30-2:00 prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service in Elkin.
