Linda Curtis Durham

Linda Curtis Durham, age 75, of Elkin, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at Willowbrook Nursing Home in Yadkinville.
Linda was born in Caldwell County on April 6, 1949, to Rev. Robert Ralph Curtis and Mary Louise Fox.

Linda's heart was always with her family and community. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, cooking for them, and caring for everyone. Her role as the community's babysitter endeared her to all the kids in the neighborhood. Linda's love extended to her profession as a CNA, where she found joy in helping others.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Diane Kinyoun; son, Timothy Ray Wilska; brothers, Johnny L. Curtis and Richard R. Curtis.

Survivors include: her two daughters, Lisa Cortez and husband Manuel  of Elkin, Donna Holcomb and husband Jon of Ronda; brothers, Bob Curtis and wife Peggy  of Chardon, Ohio, Kevin Curtis and wife Annette of Chardon, Ohio, Dan Curtis of New Braunfels, TX, Paul Curtis of Corpus Christi, TX,  and Tony Curtis and Debbie of Granite Falls; sisters, Mary Ann Absher of Lenoir, Sarah Abargel of Lenoir, Diane Couch of Elizabethton TN; grandchildren, Olivia Cortez, Sofie Cortez, Joshua Reins, Joseph Reins, Jonathan Holcomb Jr, Houston Holcomb, Brittany Thomas, Jesse Kinyoun, and several loving great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. David Key officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Durham Family Cemetery.

In honor of Linda's memory, the family kindly requests that instead of flowers, memorials be made to the Durham Family Cemetery.
